Wilson Defeats Upset-Minded Lower Dauphin

Wilson vs Lower Dauphin
Looking for redemption after Lower Dauphin’s win over Wilson in District 3-AAAA football last fall, the No. 1 seed Bulldogs faced a No. 17 seed Lower Dauphin tonight in the District 3-AAAA playoffs. With impeccable offensive and defensive handling, Wilson defeated Lower Dauphin tonight, 49-39.

As both teams looked for an early lead, the first quarter of play was slow. Wilson topped the Falcons with a 5-2 lead after 1.

Coad made a statement with a late 2nd quarter dunk, forcing Lower Dauphin into a timeout. #Wilson supporters rallied behind Coad’s slam, taking the Bulldogs into a 21-13 lead at the half.

However, Lower Dauphin would outscore Wilson the third quarter, offering up 12 points over Wilson’s 7. Wilson held off the Lower Dauphin surge with a 28-25 lead in the third.

Jaylin Calloway’s early three-pointer allowed for a Wilson retaliation in the fourth quarter. Wilson’s 10 unanswered points brought the Bulldogs to a 49-39 win over Lower Dauphin. Coad and Smith lead Wilson with 16 points each on the night.

With tonight’s win, Wilson looks to take on No. 8 William Penn during District 3-AAAA play at the Giant Center, 1:00PM Saturday.
