Governor Mifflin hosted BCIAA quarterfinal action tonight. The first game of this postseason doubleheader, No. 1 Wilson met No. 8 Tulpehocken. Led by Travaun Coad’s game-high 19 points and Jake Templin and Jaylin Calloway’s combined 24 points, the top seed Bulldogs rolled past the Trojans with a 64-25 win.
A relentless offensive pressure offered up big points for the Bulldogs; meanwhile, strong defense from Wilson provided Tulpehocken turnovers. The Bulldogs limited Tulpehocken to just 11 points in the first half. At the end of two, Wilson held a deafening lead over the Trojans, 27-11.
Coad struck big early in the second half, scoring three consecutive field goals for the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter. With tonight’s 19 points, Coad is just 3 points away from his career 1000th.
In addition to his two three-pointers in the first half, Templin offered up another two in the second, striking big on all four of his attempts. At the end of four, Wilson capped the Trojans with a 64-25 win.
With tonight’s win, Wilson moves towards the semifinals with an upcoming showdown against Reading.
