The Lady Bulldogs earned their third consecutive league title as the 2014 BCIAA champions Friday night at the Santander Arena against the Fleetwood Tigers.
With a slow start to the game, both teams went 0-for-2 with missed shots within the opening minutes. However, once Wilson secured the first basket, the Bulldogs made it nearly impossible for the Tigers to keep up.
Fleetwood struggled for baskets and control within the first half as Wilson showed a strong defense, leading 25-16 at half.
During the third period, the Lady Bulldogs began to pull away, shutting down the Tigers and outscoring them 20-8. Wilson led 45-24 at the end of the third.The Bulldog’s lead continued to increase with their dominance on the court as they overtook the Tigers by 32 points, with a final score of 58-26.
Ivory Bailey had a game high of 16 points for Wilson, while Carley Brew scored 12 points and had 15 rebounds.
Fleetwood was led by Kendra Bamberger with 9 points and Cyre Virgo with 8 points.
