Berks Catholic and Twin Valley met for a Berks County Division II showdown. An offensive and defensive titan, the Saints easily bested the Raiders 53-31. Berks Catholic’s Nana Foulland lead the Saints with 25 points on the night.
Berks Catholic lead for much of the first quarter, scoring 7 unanswered points against the Raiders. However, Twin Valley rallied with three minutes left in the first, drawing within 4 points of the Saint’s. Berks Catholic would come out on top with a 9-5 lead over Twin Valley at the end of one.
Twin Valley’s Jaelin Stoudt was good for a late three-pointer in the second, however, a relentless offensive pressure pushed the Saints to a 27-13 lead over the Raiders at halftime.
Nana Foulland’s impressive 17 point third quarter shut down the Twin Valley assault. Foulland would take the Saints to a 49-22 lead over Twin Valley at the end of three.
The Raider’s Lloyd Sarnor shot for 10 points on the night. Early back-to-back three pointers in the fourth quarter from Twin Valley’s Andrew Gibbon also helped the Raider’s cause. However, the Saint’s would take the game with a 53-31 win over Twin Valley.
Berks Catholic (9-0, 17-3) faces Conrad Weiser (8-1, 14-5) on Tuesday. The Scouts look to keep their streak alive with an upset. Twin Valley (4-5, 10-10) closes out their regular season with a meet against Fleetwood (5-4, 11-7).
