The Oley Valley Lynx falls to the Fleetwood Tiger

imageThe Fleetwood Tigers traveled to the land of the Lynx at Oley Valley for a #RedOut game Wednesday night.

The Oley Valley boys were quick to grab the first points of the game, but the glory was short lived as the Lynx would not see another Oley Valley lead for the rest of the game.

The Tigers took control of the scoreboard and the court, proving their offense came to strike and strike fast, catching continuous rebounds and foul shots within the first period.

Senior Mitchell Burns was able to bring Oley Valley to a one point differential at the end of the first period with a three pointer on the buzzer giving the Lynx 15 and the Tigers 16 heading into period two.

Senior Brian Schumacher started the second period off for the Tigers with a three pointer, helping to solidify Fleetwood’s control of the scoreboard. The Tigers finished the half with a ten point lead sending Oley Valley to the lockers to contemplate how to shut down Fleetwood for the second half.

The Tigers came back fierce still in the second half, denying any chances of rebounds and shots to the Lynx. Fleetwood continued to make shot after shot with a 19 point lead at the end of the third period.

In the end, the Tigers denied the Oley Valley boys any chance of making a comeback by out scoring them 23-11 in the fourth period, coming out victorious with a final score of 75-44.

Oley Valley, who fell to 3-10-0, will be traveling to Lancaster County Christian on January 25th.

The Fleetwood Tigers, who are now 8-5-0, will be traveling to Hamburg Friday night.
