Knights fall to the Bulldogs

imageIt was a packed house at the home of the Bulldogs as Wilson hosted the Reading Knights in a conference game Friday night.

Wilson came out with a slow start as the Knights were quick to light up the scoreboard with a six point lead before the Bulldogs came alive.

With two consecutive three pointers by senior Sam Smith and senior Jaylin Calloway, Wilson was able to take control and end the first period on top with a five point lead over the Knights, 19-14.

Wilson continued to command the court as the second period commenced, denying the Knights control and rebounds. Reading showed some difficulty getting their shots into the basket and went into half time down nine points, 21-30.

Wilson showed no signs of letting up as they continued to show their dominance on the court, moving away from Reading on the scoreboard with an 18 point differential at the end of the third.

The Knights made a gallant attempt to regain some ground in the fourth period, but were unsuccessful in catching the Bulldogs and left a 14 point difference as Wilson denied any comeback with a final score of 63-49.

Wilson was led by Senior Travaun Coad with a game high of 20 points and proved to be a force to be reckoned with on the court.

The Reading Knights, now with a 9-6 record, will host Hempfield tomorrow night.

The Bulldogs move to 14-1 and will travel to Spring-Ford tomorrow night.
