Basketball Players of the Week: Jan 22-28

Berks I

Kenny Worthington, Daniel Boone

Worthington amassed 56 points over the course of three games this week for the Blazers.  Worthington, while upping his scoring average to just under 15 PPG, has the Blazers contending for one of the final spots in the BCIAA playoffs.

Berks II

Nana Foulland, Berks Catholic

Foulland, once again, has claimed our Berks II player of the week.  The senior big man averaged nearly 24 points per game this week during three contests.  Nana is currently the only basketball player in Berks County averaging over 20 PPG in Boys or Girls.  In addition to his remarkable individual feats, Foulland and the Saints appear to have caught fire at the right time and have reeled in 11 straight victories.

Berks III

Jarvay Bolton, Wyomissing

Wyomissing sophomore guard Jarvay Bolton has been among the hottest scorers in the county the past few games.  In three games, all wins, Bolton averaged 18 PPG for the Spartans.  Bolton scored a career high 27 points against Schuylkill Valley on January 25th.

Berks I

Ivory Bailey, Wilson

Since rejoining the team January 8th, Ivory Bailey has been the spark the Lady Bulldogs needed.  Throughout 9 games with Bailey in the lineup, Wilson is 8-1.  Bailey averaged 13 points over the course of three games, which was tied with Carley Brew for the team lead.

Berks II

Kassidy Lesher, Hamburg

Kassidy Lesher takes home our Berks II player of the week for the second consecutive week.  During three wins this week, Lesher averaged 24 points per game.  She posted a career-high 26 points on Friday, only to surpass that total with 27 against Berks Catholic on Tuesday.

Berks III

Deanna Daddona, Brandywine Heights

Deanna Daddona, Berks County’s leading female scorer, averaged over 21 PPG this week during three wins for the Lady Bullets.  Daddona scored a career-high 30 points against Moravian Academy Saturday.
