Basketball Players of the Week: Jan 15-21

Berks I

Sam Smith, Wilson

Sam Smith had quite the week for the Bulldogs, who continue to roll their way towards a Berks I title.  Smith, a senior guard, set his career-high in scoring in back-to-back contests this week against Reading and Spring-Ford.  Smith scored 20 points against rival Reading before scoring 24 against the 14-1 Spring-Ford Rams.

Berks II

Nana Foulland, Berks Catholic

Nana Foulland finds himself as our Berks II player of the week, yet again.  This week in 3 games, all wins, Foulland averaged 23.3 points per game.  He scored a career-high 32 points against Daniel Boone and also helped lead Berks Catholic over a heavily favored Penn Wood team on Saturday.

Berks III

Andy Wrobel, Antietam

The Antietam Mountaineers have suddenly won 6 straight contests and Wrobel is a major reason why.  In three games this week, Wrobel averaged 17 points per contest.

Berks I

Carley Brew, Wilson

Carley Brew was nominated for the McDonalds All-American team this past week.  Brew posted 14 points and 10 rebounds against Reading this week.  She followed that performance up with an 8 point and 12 rebound game helping the Lady Bulldogs upset defending state champion Spring-Ford.

Berks II

Kassidy Lesher, Hamburg

Kassidy Lesher has been the catalyst of the Lady Hawks basketball team this season.  In two games this week, Lesher averaged 16.5 points per game.  The senior has now scored in the double-figures for 12 straight games.

Berks III

Mackenzie Adame, Antietam

Mackenzie Adame has been the leading scorer all season long for the Lady Mountaineers.  In three games this week, Adame totaled 58 points, good for a 19.3 average.
