A non-league match-up brought Antietam to Conestoga Christian during Monday evening’s hoop showdown.

The Mountaineers bested the Cougars, improving Antietam’s overall record to 10-5.

Andy Worbel cashed in on scoring opportunities early, scoring 7 points within the first quarter of play. The Mountaineers finished with a 23-8 lead over the Cougars at the end of the first.

Antietam’s Nolan Lee followed suit with back-to-back three-pointers during the second quarter. Conestoga Christian’s Lucas Kamal rallied, but it was not enough to shut out the Mountaineer’s lead. Antietam trumped in the second quarter, besting the Cougars by 44-19.

Lead by Worbel and Nolan’s combined 31 points, Antietam cruised past the Cougar defense during the second half, non-conference match. The Mountaineers ousted the Cougars at home, 69-35.

Catch Tuesday evening action as Antietam hosts Governor Mifflin and the Cougars host Tulpehocken.
