Basketball Players of the Week 12/14


Berks I

Meme Burdine – Reading High

Burdine is averaging an impressive 20.3 points per game. The Red Knights currently sit at 2-2 after a hard fought loss against national power Chester High. Reading faces a tough test this Tuesday against 2-0 Wilson.

Berks II

Nana Foulland – Berks Catholic

The senior center is currently averaging a double double with 19.6 point and 13.6 rebounds per game. The Saints, who are considered to be a state power this year, will take on Schuylkill Valley this week.

Berks III

Andy Wrobel – Antietam

Wrobel is averaging 22.3 points per game and has Antietam riding a hot start at 3-0. Wrobel and the rest of the Mountaineers are currently averaging an impressive 78 points per game. Antietam will begin league play this week with their matchup against 4-1 Tulpehocken.


Berks I

Jennifer Eck – Exeter

Eck and the rest of Eagles are off to an impressive 4-0 start. Eck has provided a nice spark by averaging 11.2 ppg.  Exeter will face a crucial week in league play with games against Governor Mifflin and Daniel Boone.

Berks II

Katrina Balatgek – Berks Catholic

Balatgek and Berks Catholic sit in first place of section 2 with a 3-0 record.  Balatgek has done her damage from all over the floor, including 12 three pointers on the season. The Lady Saints begin league play this week with games against Schuylkill Valley and Fleetwood

Berks III

Brandi Vallely – Oley Valley

Vallely posted a quadruple double against Pottsgrove last week. The Lady Lynx are off to a 2-0 start including holding Pottsgrove to 17 total points in a non league matchup.  Vallely and the gang take on Wyomissing and Kutztown this week.
