Wilson Dantzes Into D3 AAAA Semifinals

The Wilson Bulldogs are no stranger to football in the latter months of the year.  On Friday night, the Bulldogs played host to a familiar opponent, Penn Manor.  Wilson defeated Penn Manor 21-14 in their previous meeting this season.

After missing the previous two games with mono, Matt Timochenko returned as the Bulldogs signal caller.  The senior QB completed 6 of 10 pass attempts for 60 yards and a touchdown on Friday night as the Bulldogs took down the Comets 27-0 in the District 3 quarterfinals.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs on offense was sophomore running back Shane Dantzler, who carried 18 times for 148 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, the Bulldogs received a pick 6 from John Fox.  Wilson recorded their 3rd shutout of the season.  It was also the 7th time that the Bulldogs have held their opponents to 7 points or less in a contest this season.

Wilson kicker Hunter Rubright connected on 2 FG attempts, giving him 11 on the season, which is a new Berks County record.  Congratulations Hunter!

The Bulldogs, who improved to 12-0 overall, will square off with Lower Dauphin (11-1) at Gurski Stadium next Friday.  Expect a tight matchup between two AAAA powerhouses.
