The Wilson Bulldogs are no stranger to football in the latter months of the year. On Friday night, the Bulldogs played host to a familiar opponent, Penn Manor. Wilson defeated Penn Manor 21-14 in their previous meeting this season.
After missing the previous two games with mono, Matt Timochenko returned as the Bulldogs signal caller. The senior QB completed 6 of 10 pass attempts for 60 yards and a touchdown on Friday night as the Bulldogs took down the Comets 27-0 in the District 3 quarterfinals.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs on offense was sophomore running back Shane Dantzler, who carried 18 times for 148 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, the Bulldogs received a pick 6 from John Fox. Wilson recorded their 3rd shutout of the season. It was also the 7th time that the Bulldogs have held their opponents to 7 points or less in a contest this season.
Wilson kicker Hunter Rubright connected on 2 FG attempts, giving him 11 on the season, which is a new Berks County record. Congratulations Hunter!
The Bulldogs, who improved to 12-0 overall, will square off with Lower Dauphin (11-1) at Gurski Stadium next Friday. Expect a tight matchup between two AAAA powerhouses.
