Muhls Look To Take Down McDevitt in D3 Playoffs

There is no lack of confidence from the MuhlMafia. Each and every week they expect to win. That confidence is still very much evident as the Muhls take on state-ranked Bishop McDevitt this Friday night.

“McDevitt is a great team and they’re obviously the number one seed for a reason, but we’re going to give everything we have this week”, said Muhlenberg senior Aaron Lightcap.

The Muhls are a pretty great team, led by star running back Ben Ortiz, the Muhls have posted 326 points this season. Ortiz himself has contributed 23 scores.

Perhaps overlooked at times is the strong MuhlMafia defense, a defense which allowed only 144 points on the season, which lead the Muhls to be one of the top defenses in the county.

McDevitt will definitely test this defense early and often.  The top-seeded Crusaders have outscored their opponents 123-21 in the past two weeks.  Also impressive is the three straight district championships McDevitt has hanging in their rafters.

“We’re not listening to anything from the outside, our motto all week has been why not us?”, added Lightcap.

In order to win this game, Muhlenberg will have to limit the big plays. I expect a big game and would not be surprised if the Muhls pull off the upset.
