The Mustangs of Governor Mifflin have finished their perfect run through Section 1. They did so by knocking off the Scouts of Conrad Weiser 21-13.
Wilson Fontanez played a major role in the win. The junior tailback had two touchdown runs to fuel the Mifflin victory. Fontanez finished the evening with 133 yards rushing.
The Mustang defense was led by Evan Pollock who had two interceptions on the evening. Pollock and the rest of the visiting Mifflin defense held a dangerous Weiser offense to 162 yards of total offense.
The Scouts got on the board with a one yard touchdown run from Aidan Brosious. They later added two field goals from Jake Roth. Tonight marked the first time in a month that the Mustang defense had been scored upon.
Governor Mifflin and Conrad Weiser will both head to the district playoffs starting next week. Mifflin will look to keep the momentum going as Weiser hopes to bounce back after losing two straight.
