Exeter Ready For Lower Dauphin in D3 AAAA Playoffs

The Eagles of Exeter Township High School got their first-ever playoff win this past Friday. Bauer and the boys knocked off 5th seeded Central York.  They will hope to keep the season going another week as they take on 4th seeded Lower Dauphin who comes in at 10-1.

The 12th seeded hometown Eagles will have to pull off this upset on the road as the game will be played at Milton Hershey High School.

Exeter will once again rely heavily on it’s junior quarterback Chase Yocum.  The signal caller accounted for 322 yards of total offense in  last weeks win. Lower Dauphin will definitely have a game plan for Yocum, as well as Exeter’s electric tailback Manny Soto.

The Eagles will have to contain Lower Dauphin running back Dalton Yentsch, who ran for 194 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s 21-3 win over Chambersburg.  Lower Dauphin’s only loss this season came to state-ranked Bishop McDevitt.

The major question mark in the game comes from the quarterback position at Lower Dauphin.  Starting quarterback Troy Spencer did not play in the second half last week due to a head injury. I am sure Coach Bauer will still have his troops prepared for Spencer who has been a backbone of Dauphin’s offense.

Obviously the entire makeup of the game changes if Spencer is unable to go for Lower Dauphin. I went with Exeter and the upset last week and I am sticking with the hometown team once again. Be sure to check back all week for more updates on the Exeter Eagles and their playoff run.
