Early Cases for BFL Defensive Player of the Year: Section 1

Listed below in no particular order are players who are currently on the watch list for Berks Football League Defensive Player of the Year in Section 1

Michal Menet, DT Exeter

This sophomore has already become one of the top recruits in the area. His impressive season has included 49 tackles, 8 sacks and 1 fumble recovery. Menet has played a pivotal role for an Exeter team who looks to head to the district playoffs.

Eli Quinter, Safety Muhlenberg

This senior playmaker has made a living on both sides of the ball this season. On the defensive side, Quinter has been known for his big-play ability including four interceptions and returning two of them for touchdowns.  Receivers have thought twice before going across the middle against the Muhls D.

Aric Dupell, DB Governor Mifflin

It seems every Mifflin win has seen a big play from Dupell.  Aric is clearly one of the leaders on the entire Mustang football team. Dupell has five interceptions in 2013 which leads Section 1. He and the Mustang defense have only given up 111 points so far this season.

Malik Shivers, LB Conrad Weiser

The clear leader on the Scout’s defense this season, Shivers is leading the team in tackles with 48. He also played a major role in helping the Scouts secure a district playoff spot, as well as hopes of tying for the Section 1 title.

Ethan Lutz, DB  Exeter

Lutz has been a huge playmaker for the Eagles this season. So far in 2013, Ethan has 4 picks including 1 returned for a touchdown. Lutz has also registered 51 tackles on the season. Lutz and Menet have clearly been the leaders of this Exeter D.
