Early Cases for 2013 BFL Player of the Year: Section 1

Listed below, in no particular order, are players who are currently on the watch list for offensive Player of the Year in Section 1

Ben Ortiz, RB Muhlenberg

Ortiz has led the Muhls to an overall record of 6-2 so far in 2013.  Currently this season, Ortiz has carried the ball 177 times for 1,015 yards and 16 touchdowns.  The senior leader is averaging an impressive 5.7 yards per carry, allowing him to break the 1,000 yard mark already this year.

Chase Yocum, QB Exeter

The Junior signal caller has taken hold of the reigns as QB for the Eagles and has shown strong improvements each week. Yocum has 14 touchdowns on the season with a passer rating of 115.18. Chase has shown to be a dual-threat with a combined 1,100 total yards passing and rushing this season.

Wilson Fontanez, RB Governor Mifflin

Fontanez has played a huge role in helping the Mustangs remain dominant in Section 1. He has 10 touchdowns so far in 2013, however his most impressive stat is averaging 7.2 yards per carry. Fontanez is 238 yards away from breaking 1,000 yards rushing.

Kyle Myers, RB Daniel Boone 

The senior tailback has played a major role in the Blazers offense this season. Myers has 893 total yards rushing on 131 carries. Myers has found the endzone 12 times while averaging close to 7 yards per carry. He also has 16 catches for 139 yards.

Aidan Brosious, QB Conrad Weiser

When Brosious isn’t returning kickoffs for touchdowns, he’s running the scouts offense. The senior quarterback has 15 total touchdowns on the season while rushing for over 704 yards. Brosious also boasts an impressive passing rating of 153.17.
