Daniel Boone and Myers Run Away from Twin Valley

Daniel Boone and Twin Valley, two very proud football teams, came into Friday night’s game with one thing in mind: both were looking for a much needed Section 1 win.

It would be the Blazers that would come away with the 40-14 victory over rival Twin Valley.

Senior running back Kyle Myers had a heck of a night with 19 carries for 217 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Nick Hughes also chipped in with two touchdowns of his own. His first score came on a ten yard scamper and he later connected with Paul Galanti for a 12 yard touchdown strike.

Although it seems the Blazers won big, this game was extremely close for most of the night.  Twin Valley had a 14-12 lead at the half, however, Myers and the rest of the Blazers would turn things around quickly outscoring the Raiders 28-0 in the second half.

Alec Rank and Tommy Rigg had the two scores for Twin Valley.

Xavier Smith had one of the more exciting plays on the night with a 27 yard scoop and score.

The win sends Daniel Boone to 2-4 on the year and 1-2 in the section. Twin Valley falls to 0-3 in league play and  0-6 overall.

Daniel Boone will travel to Pottsville next week while Twin Valley will host Conrad Weiser.
