Weber and Wyo Bounce Back with Win Over Blue Mountain

The Spartans of Wyomissing don’t want to hear about a down year. They have the same aspirations heading into Week 1 of league play: win the section.

They started things off nicely with a 21-13 victory over Section 2 opponent Blue Mountain.  Wyo now stands at 2-2 this season and is looking to keep the momentum going.

After a scoreless first quarter, Wyomissing would pull away in the second half as they rode the run game right into the ground. The Spartans totaled 218 yards on 49 carries. They managed just 11 yards through the air but that would not matter as Wyomissing played solid defense holding the Eagles to just 159 total yards on the evening.

Wyo got two touchdowns from Caleb Naylor and a 14 yard run from senior Bryan Weber.

Shane Grapsy was in on both touchdowns for Blue Mountain, one passing and one rushing.

Wyomissing will head out of league play next week as they take on Pleasant Valley. Blue Mountain will take on 4-0 Berks Catholic next Friday.
