Muhlenberg Sends Message With Win Over Pottsville

The MuhlMafia had high expectations coming into the 2013 season. They have yet to flinch or falter on those expectations.

The Muhls 42-18 win over Pottsville will continue to raise those expectations.

Muhlenberg received four rushing touchdowns from star tailback Ben Ortiz. When BIC Sports spoke with Ortiz in late August he commented “I plan to work hard each week in practice and hope that translates to success on the field”, it has definitely translated.

Tonight’s win places Muhlenberg at 5-0 on the season and a very talented Pottsville team drops to 3-2.

“We played hard for all four quarters and executed perfectly” said Muhlenberg senior Aaron Lightcap.

Pottsville wide out AJ Stevens had a big game for the Tide with 7 catches for 79 yards and one touchdown.

Along with Ortiz, Antonieo Dominguez would put up big numbers in week 5. The MuhlMafia QB was of 8-9 for 207 yards passing and two touchdowns.

The Muhls are the last unbeaten team in Section 1. They now look ahead to a huge showdown against Mifflin in week 6.
