It has been a week of turmoil for the Hamburg Hawks. Coming off an incident in last week’s game that sidelined the team’s starting QB, Joey Cominsky, they hoped to put that all behind them when they took the field Friday night against Northern Lebanon.
The Hawks were dependent upon Nicholas Kuhn as their starting quarterback, due to regular starter Joey Cominsky’s absence. Kuhn was more than up for the challenge, leading the Hawks to a 24-21 victory.
The Hawks were led offensively by Ian Hamilton, who carried the ball 29 times for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns, with Robert Henne chipping in for their other touchdown.
Despite Hamilton’s big game on the ground, it was Tyler Seidel’s 27 yard field goal that would provide the winning margin for Hamburg.
The Hawks are now 3-0, winning all three games by a total of 7 points. If you are in need of something exciting to do on a Friday night, make sure you check out a Hamburg football game, as they have all been instant classics thus far.
Next week, Hamburg will play host to Fleetwood when league play begins.
