Fleetwood played host to the red-hot Conrad Weiser Scouts on Friday night. The Scouts came in at 2-0 with impressive wins over Blue Mountain and Wyomissing, while the Tigers were hoping to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to Donegal the week prior.
Fleetwood could expect to get a heavy dose of Alex Guilbe and Aidan Brosious, as both came into the game among the rushing leaders in Berks County.
Guilbe, a junior, carried the ball 19 times for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns, while senior Aidan Brosious carried 17 times for 114 yards and a score. Guilbe also caught a touchdown pass from Brosious.
The strong rushing attack proved too much for Tyler Emge, Zach Koenig, and the rest of the home team as Conrad Weiser won 38-21.
Emge carried the ball 22 times for 94 yards and two scores. Koenig passed for 136 yards, spreading all 9 of his completions to Michael Allen (3 catches, 59 yards, 1 touchdown) and Nate Webb (6 catches, 77 yards).
The Tigers got an interception from Zared Reichert, which helped them come as close to beating the Scouts as anybody has this year.
Next week, Conrad Weiser will head to Exeter in our BerksIC.com Game of the Week, while Fleetwood heads to Hamburg.
