Girls Soccer Roundup: Sept 11th

Daniel Boone 3, Exeter 2

The Lady Blazers beat Exeter in dramatic fashion on Wednesday, scoring a game winning goal just 32 seconds into overtime.

Scoring goals for Boone were Sammy Settle, who also added an assist, Megan Ruoss, and Karissa Zechman.  Alexa Rhoads added 2 assists.

The Lady Eagles saw goals scored by Erin Feryo and Abbie Hughes.

The Lady Blazers will face Governor Mifflin on Monday, while Exeter plays at Conrad Weiser Saturday.

Governor Mifflin 7, Reading 1

The Lady Mustangs earned a win on Wednesday as they coasted to a 7-1 victory over the Lady Red Knights.

Ella Jones led the way for Mifflin scoring a hat trick and also adding two assists.  Paige Zettle also scored twice.

Giselle Rojas scored the lone goal for Reading.

Mifflin will next face Fleetwood on Saturday.  Reading will play host to Muhlenberg on Monday.

Wilson 6, Muhlenberg 0

The Lady Bulldogs earned a win over the Lady Muhls on Wednesday by a count of 6-0.

Wilson was led by Shannon O’Brien who had 3 goals and an assist, while Rachel Hafer also added two goals and an assist.

Jess Hetrick earned the shutout for Wilson, who now improves to (2-0) in divisional play.

Wilson will host Hempfield Saturday, while Muhlenberg heads to Reading on Monday.

Schuylkill Valley 2, Conrad Weiser 1

The Lady Panthers earned their 6th win of the young season when they knocked off Conrad Weiser Wednesday.

Sophie Goad and Erika Miller got the scoring done for Schuylkill Valley, while TaCari Talford scored the Lady Scouts only goal.

SV will head to Brandywine Heights for a matchup Friday, while Weiser hosts Exeter Saturday.

Fleetwood 5, Berks Catholic 1

The Lady Saints were handed a rare loss when they hosted Fleetwood Wednesday.

The Lady Tigers offensive onslaught was just too much for Berks Catholic, as they outshot the Lady Saints 16-2.

Scoring for Fleetwood were Emily LeVan, Bella Abrams, Kayla Daniels, and Katelyn Quillman.

Sarah Spitalnick scored the only goal for the Lady Saints.

Fleetwood will travel to Shillington to battle Mifflin Saturday, while Berks Catholic heads to Kutztown.

Wyomissing 10, Antietam 1

The undefeated Lady Spartans dominated the Lady Mountaineers on Wednesday, using 28 shots to gather 10 goals.

Both Shea Moyer and Emily Stump had 2 goals, while Christina Bowers, Elke Cacchione, McKenna Brower, and Elizabeth Tonneslan each added goals as well.

Wyomissing hopes to extend their winning ways when they Christopher Dock on Saturday, while Antietam next plays Lancaster Christian Thursday.

Tulpehocken 6, Brandywine Heights 0

The Lady Trojans used goals from Kendra Benzel, Kailee Ziegler, Lauren Frantz, Alexis Troutman, and Lauryn Yoder on their way to a shutout victory over Brandywine Heights on Wednesday.

The Lady Trojans have now shutout their last 5 opponents on their way to a perfect 6-0 record, outscoring other teams 22-1.

Tulpy will face Hamburg at home on Saturday, while the Lady Bullets will host Schuylkill Valley Friday.
