Game Preview: Twin Valley vs Kennett

The Raiders will travel to Kennett Square to face the Blue Demons from Kennett High School in a rare Thursday night matchup.  Both teams come into the game winless on the season with matching 0-2 records.

So far on the season, the visiting Raiders have been outscored 96-9, with all of their points coming in the fourth quarter when teams have already called off the dogs.  If they want to improve upon these numbers, Twin Valley will have to strike early.

The Raiders feature a very young team which will hopefully use this contest as a confidence booster, given that this is the best matchup they have had to this point.

Expect to see sophomore Alec Ranck back under center for Twin Valley, while fellow sophomore Dan Ziegler sees the bulk of the carries.  Sophomore Drew Weber caught a 58 yard touchdown pass near the end of Friday’s game against Berks Catholic, which could serve as sign of good things to come.

Kennett is coming off of a close loss at West Chester East on Friday.  The Blue Demons fell 37-27.  Ultimately, the Demons gave up 480 yards of total offense to the home squad, a number which they hope to drastically improve upon if they want to have success against Twin Valley.

For the home Blue Demons, unlike the Raiders, the bulk of the reps, at least on offense, go to seniors.  Senior Jordan Jones leads the way for Kennett as their starting quarterback.  Jones also leads the team in rushing.  Fellow senior Noah Turner serves as Jones’ best weapon, accounting for 139 total yards for the Demons.  Expect Sean Middleton and Brett Rose to see a decent amount of time offensively as well.

Expect a closer game than either of the Raiders first two match-ups.

Prediction: Kennett 27, Twin Valley 13
