Muhlenberg 2, Berks Catholic 0
Muhlenberg and Berks Catholic kicked off their regular season on Tuesday in Laureldale.
The Muhls offensive onslaught was just too much to handle for the visiting Saints. The Muhls attempted 20 shots to the Saints seven.
Jared Bartholomew scored two goals within 33 seconds of one another in the second half to give the Muhls the win.
For Berks Catholic, senior keeper Drew Stanko made 18 saves.
Gov. Mifflin 2, Twin Valley 1
The Mustangs registered a 2-1 victory over the visiting Raiders behind goals from Zach Weidner and Cameron Luther. Weidner’s goal came with less than two minutes left, breaking a 1-1 tie. Mifflin also saw strong play from goalie Nathan Calder.
Chase Rusden registered the only goal for the Raiders, who fell to 0-2 on the young season.
Wilson 2, Daniel Boone 1
Fresh off of an undefeated season in Berks I last fall, the Bulldogs entered this season looking to do the same, as they welcomed the Blazers on Tuesday.
Daniel Boone had looked impressive coming into the game having scored 11 goals and allowed just one in their previoustwo2 games.
Wilson however got the best of Boone on Tuesday behind goals from Doug Kunkle and Ben Mochan. Kunkle’s late tally, a header in the 78th minute, proved to be the deciding goal.
Daniel Boone saw their scoring come from Jaxson and Jason Burns, who had a goal and an assist, respectively.
Reading 5, Conrad Weiser 0
The Red Knights traveled to Robesonia to take on Conrad Weiser Tuesday. The road warriors proved to be the better team winning in decisive fashion by a score of 5-0.
Leading the way for Reading High were Christian Garcia (2 goals), Omar Guzman (1 goal, 1 assist), Oliver Calvo (1 goal, 1 assist), and Bryan Franco (1 goal).
The Red Knights improved to 3-0 on the year. They will host Oley Valley on Thursday.
Tulpehocken 1, ELCO 0
The Trojans picked up where they left off last season by defeating ELCO on Tuesday.
Scoring was very quiet in this one as Brian Garay scored to only goal with just under six minutes left to play. The assist was credited to Vance Gladwell.
Tulpy keeper Isiah Bewley registered the shut out.
Wyomissing 7, Schuylkill Valley 1
The Spartans of Wyomissing dominated the visiting Panthers on Tuesday.
Andrew Miller led the way for Wyomissing with four goals and an assist. Both Grant Davis and Trent Moyer finished with a goal and two assists. Adding the other goal for the Spartans was Jacob DiPillo.
The Spartans will host Oley Valley next Tuesday, while the Panthers will look ahead to their matchup with Blue Mountain Thursday.
Pequea Valley 2, Fleetwood 0
Fleetwood played host to the defending state champions in Class AA on Tuesday. The visiting Braves proved to be a tough opponent allowing just two shots for the entire game.
The Tigers proved tough as well holding a shut out until the second half.
Fleetwood will turn their attention to Thursday’s game against Kutztown.
