Boys Soccer Round Up: September 7

Wilson 0, Hempfield 0

The Bulldogs played to a scoreless tie on Saturday in Hempfield during non league action.

Austin Lubas recorded his second consecutive shutout for Wilson, who will travel to Reading High on Tuesday in the season’s biggest game thus far.

Oley Valley 7, Schuylkill Valley 0

The Lynx totally overpowered the Panthers on Saturday in a 7-0 blowout.

Austin Swoyer and Marcus Frangakis each scored twice for the Lynx. Matt Burns, Ben Kerkeslager, and Clark Williamson each tallied a goal while Sebastian Williamson had 3 assists.

Oley Valley moves to 4-1 on the year while Schuylkill Valley fell to 1-4.

Hamburg 5, Eastern York 1

Hamburg won the first part of their doubleheader over Eastern York on Saturday.

Austin Freeman continued his blistering hot start for the Hawks as he scored two times on Saturday while also adding two assists. Freeman now has 13 goals and 5 assists this year.

The Hawks moved to 5-0 with a pair of victories Saturday.

Hamburg 2, Wyomissing 1

Dustin Rohrbach played hero for Hamburg as he scored the decisive late overtime goal against Wyomissing on Saturday.

Matthew Prince scored a goal and also assisted on Rohrbach’s winner.

Andrew Miller scored the lone goal for the Spartans.

Hamburg now sits in first place at 5-0. Meanwhile, Wyomissing moved to 3-1.

Wyomissing 5, Berks Catholic 0

The Spartans won over the Saints by a score of 5-0 on Sunday in the final game of the Hamburg tournament.
Leading the way for the Spartans were Andrew Miller (3 goals), Trent Miller (1 goal, 1 assist), and Alex Fisher (1 goal).

The Spartans will host Oley Valley on Tuesday. The Saints will host Schuylkill Valley on Tuesday as well.

Lancaster Mennonite 3, Fleetwood 0

The Tigers struggled offensively as they fell 3-0 at the hands of Lancaster Mennonite.

The Tigers now stand at 1-3-1 as they will host red hot Hamburg on Tuesday.

Manheim Township 3, Exeter 2

The Eagles fell to Manheim Township Saturday by a score of 3-2.

Scoring for the Eagles were Logan Gettis and Nick Leinbach.

Exeter, who is now 2-2 will host Mifflin on Tuesday.

Governor Mifflin 1, Tulpehocken 0

The Mustangs defeated the Trojans 1-0 on Saturday behind a goal from Cameron Luther. Nabie Lokie picked up the assist.

Mifflin will visit Exeter on Tuesday. Tulpy will host Antietam on Tuesday as well.

Lititz Christian 2, Antietam 0

The Mountaineers fell to 2-1 on the young season with a loss to Lititz Christian Saturday.

Antietam will travel to Tulpehocken on Tuesday in a league matchup.

Kutztown 8, Upper Perkiomen 2

The Cougars made the trip to Red Hill and came out on top in their matchup against Upper Perk.

Pierre Reedy had a hat trick for the Cougars and also recorded an assist. Kyle Hartman had 2 goals as well. Three other Kutztown players recorded goals.

Kutztown will head to Brandywine Heights on Tuesday in a league matchup.

Twin Valley 3, Brandywine Heights 0

The Raiders defeated the Bullets on Saturday by a score of 3-0. Both teams had 2 games Saturday night.

Val Morkejs scored twice for the Raiders while James Valihura also scored. Ryan Lawler had 2 assists.

Twin Valley will host Conrad Weiser on Tuesday. The Bullets will host Kutztown.

Twin Valley 4, Blue Mountain 0

Val Markejs and the Raiders defeated Blue Mountain in a 4-0 rout. Markejs had 2 goals in the win. Chase Rusden also tallied two goals.

The Raiders are now 3-2, while the Eagles are 1-2.

Garden Spot 4, Brandywine Heights 3

The Bullets fell to Garden Spot in the consolation game of the Raider Classic on Saturday.

For the Bullets, Hunter Miller, Michael Unis, and Austin Weller did the scoring.

The Bullets are now 0-4 on the year.
