BIC Sports Players of the Week (Section 2, Week 5)

Offensive: Tyler Emge, RB Fleetwood

Tyler Emge put the Tigers on his back this past Saturday as they knocked off previously unbeaten Schuylkill Valley.  Emge carried 39 times for a school record of 214 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Emge now has 689 yards and 7 touchdowns this season.

Honorable Mention: Chris Warren, RB Berks Catholic

Chris Warren was a big factor in Berks Catholic’s 37-7 win over Blue Mountain Friday.  Warren, who had seen limited time offensively this season, largely in part to BC’s blowout wins, got his chance to shine in Orwigsburg.  Warren carried 10 times for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Congratulations to both Tyler and Chris for earning our Offensive Player of the Week honors!

Defensive: Michael Allen, CB Fleetwood

Michael Allen was essential to the Tigers defense on Saturday night.  Allen finished the game with an interception, but played a large part in holding the Panthers to just 4 of 17 passing.  It is hard to go with just one player from Fleetwood’s defense, since they looked so stellar in all aspects, but Allen caught my eye more than anyone else.

Honorable Mention: Tyler Herber, S Hamburg

Tyler Herber recovered a fumble and returned it 86 yards for a touchdown against Kutztown on Friday night.  Herber’s score put the Hawks up 41-12 in their 47-26 win.

Congratulations to Michael and Tyler for earning our Defensive Player of the Week honors!
