BIC Sports Players of the Week (Section 2, Week 4)

Offensive: Pop Lacey, RB Berks Catholic
Lacey wowed fans Friday night as he had success not only on the ground with 11 carries for 121 yards and one score, but he also had 3 catches for 54 yards in Berks Catholic’s thrilling 33-25 victory over Columbia. The junior has quickly made a name for himself at Berks Catholic and in Section 2. He will continue to be a threat as the Saints try and make a run for December.

Honorable Mention: Nick Scheidt, RB Schuylkill Valley
Nick Scheidt continued his dominance this season as he rushed for 141 yards and 3 touchdowns on Friday in the Panthers 46-0 win over Kutztown.  Scheidt now has 663 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns through just 4 games.

Congratulations to Pop and Nick for earning our top offensive honors this week!

Defensive: Tyler Emge, LB Fleetwood
Emge scooped a Hamburg fumble and took it 37 yards for the score as the Tigers knocked off the Hawks by a score of 52-7. The junior two way standout just recently moved from safety to linebacker this season. He seems to be adjusting just fine. The Tigers will face a tough test this Saturday night as they take on Schuylkill Valley.

Honorable Mention: Gregory Johnson, DB Schuylkill Valley
Johnson intercepted a pass for the third consecutive game for the Panthers during their 46-0 win over Kutztown.  Gregory has certainly helped the Panthers maintain the highest turnover differential in Berks County (+11).

Congratulations to both Tyler and Gregory for earning our top defensive honors.
