BIC Sports Players of The Week (Section 1, Week 5)

Offensive: Ben Ortiz, RB Muhlenberg

Ortiz has found himself in the end zone early and often this season; this past week he had added four touchdowns to his total as the Muhls knocked off Pottsville.  Ben now has 14 touchdowns this season already. Ortiz has played a huge role in Muhlenberg’s 5-0 start. He will look to keep the momentum going this week in a huge showdown with Mifflin.

Honorable Mention: Antonieo Dominquez, QB Muhlenberg

Dominquez was 8 of 9 for 207 yards and two scores, continuing his reign as the top-rated passer in the county.

Defensive: Brett Chambers, DB Governor Mifflin

Chambers had two interceptions in Friday’s win over Exeter. He also played a pivotal role as the Mustangs held the Eagles to just 7 total points on the evening.  Chambers and the Mustangs are definitely back on track as they have won two straight heading into next week’s game against rival Muhlenberg.

Honorable Mention: Dontae Owens, DB Reading

Owens had a key interception in Readings 20-17 victory over Twin Valley.
