Mertz Resigns at Kutztown

Tim Mertz has resigned as head coach of the Kutztown baseball team.

Mertz had a career record of 266-130 in the Cougars dugout for 17 seasons. During his managerial tenure, he won two District 3-AA championships and one BCIAA title.  The Cougars also reached the PIAA Class AA championship game in 2007.

Kutztown finished last season with a 16-11 record (8-2 in Berks III) in Mertz’s final season. The Cougars reached the BCIAA and District 3-AA championship game.

The Cougars have not named a replacement for Mertz at this time.
