Three Berks Field Hockey Players make U.S. Under-19 Team

Hamburg’s Karlie Heistand, Twin Valley’s Ashley Hoffman and Oley Valley’s Skyler Fretz were selected to the United States Under-19 team this week.

Heistand led Berks in goals (25) and points (65) last season. She was named to the PIAA Class AA first team as a junior.

Fretz had seven goals and six assists for 20 points in her junior season. She helped the Oley defense limit opponents to 14 goals and also made the Class AA first team.

Hoffman, also a junior in 2012, finished third in the county in goals (17) and points (52). She also finished second in the league with 18 assists.
